Suspension Service & Tuning

Forks and shocks rebuilt, revalved and set up for you — not for the average rider the factory sprung it for.

Carry your forks in, or bring us the whole bike. Prices are on this page, and parts are quoted before we touch anything.

A certified K-Tech Road Performance Centre

Officially certified to service and tune K-Tech Suspension products and provide trackside support. — K-Tech Suspension, on what a Road Performance Centre is

Indy Superbikes is one of the few shops in the midwest certified to sell and service the top-of-the-line TRDS range.

The certification is specific to K-Tech, but our bench isn't. We service most OEM and aftermarket forks and shocks including Öhlins, Bitubo, Andreani, WP, Showa, and more.

Note that some OEM shocks are sealed units that can't be opened at all, so those need a phone call before you take anything apart.

Brands we service

Our certification is specific to K-Tech. These are other makes our bench works on regularly — tell us what you've got and we'll tell you straight whether it's something we can service.

How our pricing works

One rule explains this whole page: every price is for the component already off the bike. Getting it off the bike is a separate, named line — never a surprise on the invoice.

You bring the parts

Forks off the bike, or a shock already out. Every price in the menu below is this price.

  • Cheapest way to have the work done
  • Straight comparison against a mail-in specialist
  • You do the removal and refitting

You bring the bike

We pull the parts, do the work, and put the bike back together.

  • Add +$250 for forks — so fork service on the bike is $500
  • Shocks vary by model; we confirm before starting
  • Includes setting your sag and a road test

Prices are labor. Parts — seals, bushings, oil, springs, cartridge kits — are quoted separately, and we'll always get your approval before ordering or fitting anything.

What it costs

Our shop rate is $125/hr. Where a job genuinely varies we've given a range rather than a number we'd have to walk back.

Forks

Fork Service — the pair

$250

Strip both fork legs, inspect seals and bushings, polish the tubes, fresh oil to spec, rate the springs, reassemble. Two hours of labor.

Not included: Service parts — seals, wipers, bushings, oil. Specialized cartridge disassembly.

Fork Removal & Reinstall

+$250

Add this if the forks are still on the bike. We pull them, do the work, refit the front end and torque everything to spec. Fork service on the bike comes to $500.

Fork Revalve — the pair

$300–400

A full rebuild AND a custom valving stack shimmed for your weight, your pace and what you ride. This includes the fork service above rather than adding to it.

Not included: Service parts. Removal from the bike — add the R&R line.

Cartridge Kit Install — the pair

$300

Fit a cartridge kit into both legs — strip, install, set oil height, reassemble, and set your baseline clickers. Labor only.

Not included: The cartridge kit itself. Removal from the bike — add the R&R line.

Shocks

Shock Service

$250

Oil change, seal inspection, bladder and IFP check, shaft polish, nitrogen recharge, and a spring rate check against your weight. Two hours of labor.

Not included: Service parts. Removal from the bike — add the R&R line.

Shock Oil Seal

+$50

Added to a shock service or revalve when yours needs a new oil seal. The shock is already apart, so it's an add-on rather than a job of its own.

Shock Removal & Reinstall

$125–250

Most bikes are 1 to 2 hours. It climbs when the linkage, exhaust or subframe has to come off to get the shock out, and a few models take longer still — so we confirm the figure for your model before starting.

Shock Revalve

$300–400

Full rebuild AND a custom revalve of the rear shock for your weight and pace. Includes the shock service above rather than adding to it.

Not included: Service parts. Removal from the bike — add the R&R line.

Shock Spring Swap

$25

Fit a different rate spring — usually because the stock rate is wrong for your weight, which is the most common reason a bike feels bad.

Not included: The spring itself. Tell us your weight and we'll work out the rate.

Setup & Rebuilds

Sag Setup & Clicker Adjustment

$100

Static and rider sag set front and rear, then baseline compression and rebound clickers for your weight, your gear and the way you ride. You need to be here — rider sag is measured with you on the bike.

Preload Adjuster Rebuild

$130

Rebuild a hydraulic or remote preload adjuster. The usual symptom is one that's gone soft, seeped, or stopped holding adjustment.

Not included: Service parts.

Steering Damper Rebuild

$130

Strip, fresh oil, new seals, and a check that the sweep is even across the range. This is the steering damper on the front end.

Not included: Service parts.

Not sure which of these you need? That's a normal question and it's free to ask — text your year, make, model and what the bike is doing to (317) 207-0525.

Shop K-Tech

We stock the K-Tech range we're certified to fit. Everything here is built to order and valved for your weight and how you actually ride — so it's worth a conversation before you buy, not after.

Not sure what your bike needs? That's the normal starting point — tell us what it's doing and we'll tell you what's worth changing. A cartridge kit or shock is almost always fitted and set up here, so the install price is on the menu above.

Why have it done here

We charge a little more than a mail-in bench for some of this work. Here's exactly what you get for it.

Sag set with you on the bike

Rider sag is the single highest-value adjustment in suspension, and it can only be measured with the rider aboard in riding gear. A mail-in specialist never gets to do it. We do it as a matter of course.

Road-tested before you collect it

The bike is here, so the work gets checked on the road rather than signed off on a bench. If something isn't right we find it, not you.

No two-way freight, no lost week

Boxing a shock and shipping it both ways adds cost and usually a week or more. Carry-in skips all of it.

Certified for the parts we fit

Ray and Chuck both completed K-Tech's week-long road race program, which is the requirement to sell and service the TRDS range. We fit what we're trained on.

Frequently asked

Is a "revalve" the same as valve service?

No — completely different jobs, and the names are unhelpfully similar.

A revalve is suspension work: changing the shim stack inside a fork cartridge or shock so the damping suits your weight and pace. That's this page.

Valve service is engine work — checking and adjusting valve clearances in the cylinder head, usually as part of a major interval service. That's on our main service page.

Do I need to bring the whole bike, or just the parts?

Either. Every price on this page is for the component already off the bike — that's the cheapest way to have the work done, and it's what you're comparing against when you look at a mail-in specialist.

If you'd rather not pull them yourself, add the removal and reinstall line and bring us the bike. Forks are a flat +$250. Shocks vary by model, so we confirm before starting.

Mail-in specialists charge less. Why should I come to you?

Straight answer: on the bench work alone, they're often a little cheaper, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

What they can't do is set your sag with you sitting on the bike, road-test the result, or hand it back the same week. Suspension that's been perfectly rebuilt and then run at the wrong sag will still feel wrong — and sag is the part that needs you physically present.

If you already know exactly what you want and you're happy to measure your own sag, mail-in is a reasonable choice. If you want it right when you ride away, bring us the bike.

Can you service my OEM shock?

Call us first. Some OEM shocks are fully serviceable, and some genuinely aren't — a number are sealed units that were never designed to be opened. It depends on the specific shock, not the brand or the model year.

Text or call with your year, make and model and we'll tell you which you've got before you take anything apart.

How do I know whether I need a service or a revalve?

Rough rule: if the suspension used to feel right and now doesn't, you need a service — oil breaks down and seals wear. If it has never felt right for you, you need a revalve, or possibly just different springs and a sag setup.

A lot of bikes that get booked in for a revalve actually need $100 of sag setup and a spring rate that matches the rider. We'll tell you if that's yours — it's the cheapest fix on this page and it's frequently the correct one.

Are parts included in these prices?

No. Every price on this page is labor only. Seals, wipers, bushings, oil, springs and cartridge kits are quoted separately once we've seen what yours actually needs.

We'll always get your approval on parts before we order or fit anything.

Do you sell K-Tech parts as well as service them?

Yes — cartridge kits, shocks, springs and service parts across the K-Tech range, including the TRDS line that the certification covers.

The full catalogue isn't on the site yet. Call or text with your year, make and model and we'll price it and tell you what's realistic on lead time.

Talk to us about your bike

Tell us the year, make and model, your weight in riding gear, and what the bike is doing that you don't like. That's enough for us to give you a real answer instead of a follow-up question.
