2027 season
Three organizations every rider around here should know. ASRA and WERA are club racing, where you can race yourself. MotoAmerica is the pro championship, where you go to watch. Here's what each one is, where they race, and where to find out more.

ASRA/BRL National Championship

ASRA is where amateur racers compete for a national championship. Classes run from production and sprint races to superbike and endurance, so there's a place for most bikes and most budgets. You'll often hear it called ASRA/CCS.
For 2027 ASRA teams up with the Bagger Racing League. The ASRA/BRL National Championship puts V-twin and bagger racing on the same weekends, and five of those rounds also count toward the Battle of the Baggers.
Twelve rounds, from Carolina Motorsports Park in April to the finale at Daytona in October. Close to home: NCM Motorsports Park in Bowling Green, KY, Mid-Ohio, and three weekends at Blackhawk Farms in South Beloit, IL.
You need an ASRA race license. If you've never held one, take a road race school first: ASRA usually holds them on the Friday before a race weekend. A license from WERA, the AMA or another club counts as prior experience.
Full calendar released
"Baggers" marks the five Battle of the Baggers rounds. ASRA's own pages list Daytona as both Oct 14–16 and 14–17; check before you book.

WERA Motorcycle Roadracing

WERA has run amateur road racing since 1973 and is co-sanctioned by the AMA. Racers pick a series: a regional Sportsman series, the National Challenge, or the National Endurance Series, where a team of riders shares one bike.
The season ends at the Grand National Finals at Barber Motorsports Park in October. 2027 is the 55th.
Mostly the Southeast: Road Atlanta, Barber, Roebling Road and Talladega Gran Prix. Closest to us is the North Central Sportsman series at Grattan Raceway in Michigan and Nelson Ledges in Ohio.
WERA runs its riders school at most race weekends (marked "Race school" in the schedule). If you've never raced, start there. Questions? Call WERA at (770) 720-5010.
Full calendar released
Endurance races run on the first day of their weekend (Friday at Road Atlanta and Barber).

Home of the AMA Superbike Championship

MotoAmerica is the top level of motorcycle road racing in North America and the home of the AMA Superbike Championship. A race weekend runs several classes, among them Superbike, Supersport, Stock 1000 and Twins Cup, plus support classes for younger riders and the King of the Baggers.
This is the one to watch. The grid is factory and professional teams, and the racing is as close as it gets in this country.
Major circuits coast to coast. Seven 2027 rounds are confirmed so far, from the Daytona 200 in March to New Jersey in September. The closest to us is Mid-Ohio (Jul 30–Aug 1), with Road America in June a good weekend trip.
Buy tickets for a round on MotoAmerica's site, or follow the season online. Nobody starts racing at MotoAmerica: riders get here by racing club series like ASRA and WERA first.
7 rounds announced, full calendar coming soon
MotoAmerica hasn't released its full 2027 calendar yet. Mid-Ohio's dates come from the track's own 2027 schedule.
